The 377th Medical Group is in the process of undergoing a facelift.

Patients will continue to see renovations to the hospital over the next year, including replacement of flooring, lighting and furniture, and overall new room layouts for several specialty sections.

“The overall renovation is being done to provide better care for our patients and a better work environment for our personnel,” said Lt. Col. Dolphis Hall, 377th Medical Support Squadron commander.

Delivering healthcare to more than 13,000 patients and 40,000 beneficiaries, these renovations were needed to update facility conditions, assist in infection control and provide customers with the most comfortable and hygienic hospital visits possible.

“Having a new facility will give us more of a professional look and help assimilate the style to one similar to off base hospital locations,” said 1st Lt. Hannah Williams, 377th MDSS medical logistics flight commander. “We were able to rearrange the medical group to provide the most efficient health care possible.”

The $16.9 million upgrade to the hospital started in January 2016. The project is currently in phase three and is set to be finished in November 2017. The physical therapy clinic was expanded in the first phase, while phase two saw renovation of the Public Health Clinic and administrative offices.

“We look forward to continuing to serve our patients as we make upgrades to our facility not only for the staff, but for our beneficiaries, so they can receive ‘trusted care, anywhere,’” Hall said.

The 377th MDG provides daily operational medical support to the 377th Air Base Wing and more than 100 associate organizations. The group provides primary health care and specialty care to patients enrolled in TRICARE Prime, both those assigned to Kirtland as well as other eligible beneficiaries.
