The joint exercise was conducted by NATO allies Portugal and the U.K. with participation from U.S. Air Force Airmen. The training consisted of various air-to-air, air-to-surface and air-to-sea scenarios which strengthened allied force interoperability.

“Actively participating in exercises like these enhance our capabilities and sends a clear message to the international community that the U.S. is committed to European security and stability,” said a 492nd FS pilot.

The exercise provided force integration and combat readiness training for the air forces allocated to NATO Response Force 2017. The NRF is a multinational force that can deploy quickly, wherever needed.

“The U.S. and NATO mutually share and value the principles of security, stability and democracy for all alliance citizens in North America and Europe, “the pilot said. “This showcases the steadfast commitment the U.S. has for its transatlantic partnership and maintaining our common defense.”

Approximately 30 U.S. Airmen participated in Noble Arrow, and around 5,700 NATO members and partners are engaging in the combined exercises of Noble Arrow, Joint Warrior, Noble Mariner and Unmanned Warrior.
