The 727th Air Mobility Squadron welcomed Col. Bradley Spears, 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing vice commander, Nov. 9, 2016.

“We're thrilled to have Col. Spears spend time with us at the 727th AMS,” said Lt. Col. Sean Lewis, 727th AMS commander. “Rapid Global Mobility is central to Air Mobility Command's worldwide mission, and the opportunity to showcase our portion of that responsibility, in addition to the partnerships we've fostered across Team Mildenhall, helps us reinforce the interconnectedness needed to quickly deploy forces wherever they're required.”

Spears began the day with a mission brief where leadership gave an overview of their squadron and what they achieve. He then had the opportunity to meet the Airmen who get the job done each and every day when he toured the combat readiness and resources center, the air terminal operations center, air freight center and the passenger terminal. In the passenger terminal, he saw the various facilities including the special lounge for people needing a quiet area, the child room and spoke to Ministry of Defence employees.

After meeting with 100th Air Refueling Wing and 352nd Special Operations Wing leadership, he visited fleet services and Airmen from various parts of the squadron. The leader said he hoped to gain inside knowledge in order to see what personnel need to carry out the mission, and wanted to know what leadership could do for them.

The squadron was keen to show off its employees to the leader.

“The day went really well. As we’re a geographically separated unit, it’s always nice to be able to show leadership what we do every day, and put our folks front and center,” said 1st Lt. Christopher Gingerelli, 727th AMS Air Freight officer in charge. “We were able to immerse him into each section and show him the characteristics which make this squadron unique as we’re the sole Air Mobility Command presence in the United Kingdom and manned primarily by MoD employees.”
