Marines with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing attended the 3rd MAW Material Readiness Branch Training Conference aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, Sept. 28.

The conference helped provide shops a baseline for supply and maintenance procedures so they can go back to their units and properly run their shops in a proactively efficient manner.

Gear accountability and maintenance is a standard enforced by the Marine Corps into every Marine from the time they place their feet on the yellow footprints and it still holds true today.

The Marine Corps has seen a decline in the quality of gear management and being accountable for equipment, explained Maj. Greg Duesterhaus, the material readiness branch officer in charge. The conference re-established old practices that assist in promoting gear accountability and reinforcing protocols.
