MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. -- In this week's construction update and photo, workers connected a walkway with poured, wet cement Sept. 14 between the new training facility and the older dormitory buildings on campus at the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center.
They've completed much of the walkways around the new facility, with a few sections toward the student parking lot and between Spruance Hall and Morrissey Hall remaining.
Other workers prepared the construction site office trailers for removal by the end of September, among many other projects. Site officials said that they will operate from the lower classrooms until project completion.
The center officially broke ground more than two year's ago on the 46,871 square-foot mixed-use facility. The campus expansion supports record enrollment numbers and growing volume in enlisted professional military education and professional continuing education, said officials.
