MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Marines and sailors with 2nd Marine Logistics Group welcomed Brig. Gen. David W. Maxwell at an assumption of command ceremony Sept. 1, 2016.
Col. Daniel P. O’hora, the departing interim-commander of 2nd MLG, offered words of support for the future of the unit.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the Marines and sailors who poured their heart and soul in the rehearsal for the event,” said O’Hora. “To see the unit work together one more time was a capstone; I’m proud in the way the unit conducted themselves with precision and professionalism.”
Colonel Daniel P. O’Hora is slated to take command of the Marine Corps Engineer School at Camp Lejeune.
“It’s a bitter sweet moment, I’m sorry to go, but in the same breath I’m eager to to assume command of Marine Corps Engineer School,” said O’Hora. “There will always be a special place in my heart for this organization.”
During the ceremony Maxwell congratulated O’Hora on his work with 2nd MLG and wished him the best in his upcoming move. He also gave a speech to the 2nd MLG and gave them complements on the exceptional work they have done over the years.
“For Marines and sailors in the 2nd MLG our mission hasn’t changed. You have a reputation for excellence in everything you’ve done,” said Maxwell. “[We will] continue to organize and train to support and provide [the Marine air-ground task-force] in whatever shape or form will continue to be our mission.”
