Airmen with the 182nd Airlift Wing held a luncheon July 28 in honor of the unit’s longest-serving Title 5 federal technician, where she received accolades from the unit’s leadership for her contributions to the wing.
Patricia Tetidrick, an administrative support technician with the 182nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, retired Aug. 1 after 41 years, five months and 21 days of federal service.
Those who worked with Tetidrick, affectionately known as “Ms. Patty,” spoke fondly of her personality and influence within the unit.
“Throughout all the changes, she has held us up and kept the squadron on a steady course for years,” said Capt. Kate Gualdoni, a logistics management officer with the 182nd Logistics Readiness Squadron. “And I can honestly say she is one of the nicest and most helpful ladies I have ever met. She has a way of making lemonade out of lemons and has a wonderful sense of humor.”
Tetidrick plans to work on her home and pursue volunteer opportunities in her retirement. In four decades of memories, she couldn’t place any one as a best.
“It’s been good. It’s actually been a good experience,” she said. “It’s a good place to work. Everybody has advanced to the point that I know that everyone’s reliable. They take care of each other. So, it’s just good.”
Col. William Robertson, the commander of the 182nd Airlift Wing, said Tetidrick has been a great help throughout the years in support the unit’s mission.
“She’s been kind of a conduit, if you will, for commanders that have changed over and for corporate knowledge of what’s going on in the wing,” he said. “This is a well-earned retirement, and I wish her well and happiness in retirement. I hope she comes back and visits.”
When Tetidrick began her federal career she earned $1.40 per hour. Four decades later, she served under 21 different supervisors and worked in positions including typist, supply clerk and administrative support technician. Tetidrick began working with the Peoria Air National Guard unit in 1976.
