Dear Soldiers, Friends, and Family Members,
On the Fourth of July, we [Americans] celebrate a historical day of the founding of our great Nation. 240 years ago, 56 brave men came together in pursuit of freedom and declared the United States an independent, sovereign state. This declaration of independence cost almost 20,000 American Soldiers’ lives during the Revolutionary War. Presently, we have Soldiers deployed, who are still willing to risk their lives in order to defend those freedoms. The 335th Signal Command (Theater) (Provisional) gladly partakes in that defense to protect the American public.
America’s service members have not stopped paying the ultimate sacrifice since the Revolutionary War. The 335th Signal Command (Theater) (Provisional) has continuously supported the defense of our Nation and deployed forward under U.S. Army Central Command in support of multiple operations since November 2001. Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Spartan Shield, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, Operation Resolute Support and Operation Inherent Resolve have resulted in the death of more than 2,500 American service members.
Although the cost of freedom does not come free, our brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces believe in protecting it around the world. As one of our former Presidents once said, “It is a hope that someday every people and every nation of the world will know the blessings of liberty,” (Ronald Reagan, July 4, 1986).
The command wishes everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July in hopes that this Federal holiday remains a fun and joyous celebration of our independence. We ask that you remember all deployed service members who are away from loved ones now in service of our country, and keep America in your thoughts and prayers.
