Anakonda 16 is a Polish-led exercise taking place in Poland from June 7-17. It involves over 25,000 participants from more than 20 nations. Anakonda 16 is a premier event for U.S. Army Europe, allied and partnered nations that supports assurance and deterrence measures by demonstrating Allied defense capabilities to deploy, mass and sustain combat power.

Lt. Col. William Arnold, the commander for 3BSB, said the intent behind the visit was to show their Polish Allies the BSB's field feeding capabilities so they will be able to better support each other during any future operations.

"The main focus is me integrating with the multinational sustainment formations so that we can build interoperability through our shared understanding of our capabilities," said Arnold.
During the demonstration the cooks explained what they do on a day-to-day basis and how to operate a containerized kitchen.

Culinary specialists from 3BSB will prepare two meals, breakfast and dinner, throughout Anakonda to feed and boost morale of Soldiers in the battalion.

Staff Sgt. Carroll Wilson, 3BSB Culinary Specialist Noncommissioned Officer-in-Charge, said her Soldiers' day starts at 3:30 every morning to prepare breakfast.

"I have an awesome group of Soldiers who take initiative to make things happen around here," said Wilson.

After the meal was finished the Soldiers demonstrated how to maneuver around in the kitchen and sanitize all cookware.

"Today the 3BSB Soldiers did well," said Arnold. " The culinary specialists explained how the field feeding works as each of the elements within the battalion demonstrated their professional expertise, and the [Polish] commander was very pleased and impressed with the capabilities we have and are able to provide," said Arnold.

Wilson said all the credit goes to her Soldiers.

"I know I am the NCOIC of the [containerized kitchen] in the field, but all I do is set the standard, and my Soldiers do the rest," said Wilson. "I could not do this without them, and I am very appreciative for their hard work."
