Paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division went head-to-head during the All American Week 2016 Combatives Tournament finals at the Ritz-Epps Physical Fitness Center on Fort Bragg, N.C., May 25.
The event began with competitors from across the Division competing using standard combatives rules, takes downs and submissions only, and progressed to intermediate. Today’s iteration featured advanced rules including gloves and closed fist striking to the head and body.
At the conclusion of the event, awards were presented to the combatives teams with the most combined points and to individual Paratroopers who finished at the top of their weight class.
All American Week is an opportunity for 82nd Airborne Paratroopers, past and present, and their Families to come together, enjoy camaraderie and celebrate being members of the All American Division. This year's All American Week theme is "Tomorrow's Force, Today!"
