    1st Theater Sustainment Command

FORT BRAGG, N.C. – Soldiers and family members of Special Troops Battalion, 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) welcomed Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin D. Henderson and bid farewell to Command Sgt. Maj. Bruce L. Paulson during a change of responsibility ceremony Friday at the 1st TSC Headquarters.

During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Landis Maddox, commander, STB, praised Paulson and all of the first-time accomplishments made during his tenure.

“It has been my distinct privilege to serve beside Command Sgt. Maj. Paulson and call him my ‘Ride or Die’,” said Maddox.

Paulson will be retiring after more than 29 years of service. Paulson thanked the command for the leadership and mentorship provided during his time as the STB command sergeant major.

“Sir thank you for allowing me to lead your Soldiers, it has been an honor,” said the native of Lacrosse, Wisconsin, as he thanked the 1st TSC commander, Maj. Gen. Paul C. Hurley.

“As a seasoned Fort Bragg Soldier, Henderson is an experienced and dedicated professional, who I believe is the perfect fit for the gladiator battalion as we go forward,” said Maddox.

Henderson’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal seventh award, National Defense Service Medal with bronze star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with numeral four, Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
