    76th Operational Response Command

SALT LAKE CITY – The 76th Operational Response Command (ORC), Commander, Maj. Gen. Ricky L. Waddell, will be hosting a Utah Army Ball to celebrate the United States Army’s 241st birthday, Saturday, June 11, at the Living Planet Aquarium, Salt Lake City, Utah.
During the day, there will be a community engagement in order for the 76th ORC to continue building ongoing relationships with the public. The Association of the United States Army and Veterans of Foreign Wars are true partners; they are the ones sponsoring the event. The governor, mayor, President of University of Utah, State Senates and District Representatives, commissioners, are some of the dignitaries invited to attend the event.
Some of the static displays you might see during the event to include a Blackhawk from the National Guard 211th Aviation unit, Biological Integrated Detection System (BIDS) High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) from the 96th Brigade Support Battalion, a Shadow unmanned aerial vehicle, and an American flag that measures 20 feet hoist by 38 feet fly to be flown from one of U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground’s (DPG) fire trucks. DPG is the nation’s leading test center for chemical and biological defense.
The 76th ORC provides command and control to specialized Army Reserve units and Army Reserve Elements (AREs) that provide operational support to combatant commands, Department of Defense agencies and Army major commands.
The 19 subordinate commands under the 76th ORC are geographically dispersed throughout the 49 United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The mission and skill sets of our units and Soldiers are as diverse as their locations.
Please join the members of the 76th ORC and their families as we celebrate the Army’s birthday.
