    310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command

The 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) completed a very successful mobilization to Fort Hood, Texas, during 2015. There, we provided mission oversight of logistical operations for III Corps in support of four US Army Divisions, nine separate functional brigades, and deployed an Advise and Assist Team to Iraq in support of Operation inherent Resolve. As a result, the 310th ESC is in full gear preparing for the next call, the next mission.
Readiness is my number one focus for this year. Reports of current “hot spot” and violent activities occurring around the world dictate that the 310th ESC must be prepared to answer the call to deploy. We, as Soldiers, must be Duty Military Occupational Specialty Qualified (DMOSQ), trained, and physically, medically and mentally ready to deploy on a moment’s notice. As we go about our daily duties, we are continually reminded that the Chief of Staff of the Army’s highest priority is Readiness. Every subordinate Commander below the Chief of Staff also has the same number one priority. As a result, readiness, both individual and unit, are of great importance to me.
I challenge each Soldier in this command to pay attention to, and to read articles regarding current and future changes taking place in the Army as it relates to readiness. As we progress through the year, together we will make incremental improvements in readiness through careful analysis of data and trends in medical readiness, deliberate implementation of actions, development of best practices, and enforcement of Army policies.
In terms of qualifications, I expect every Soldier to be proactive in enrolling in his/her required Primary Military Education (PME) course and other Functional courses to be qualified for the position for which you are assigned. In the complex environment in which we operate, there is no room for guess work and mediocrity. Every Soldier must be totally bought in on our vision and fully committed to his/her craft. If this command is to be ready for the next call, it will take the concerted effort of every Soldier to make it happen.
I am confident that the 310th ESC will be ready for the next call. I want every leader in this command to feel the same way. We all have a part in this and our time, lines of effort, and investments must ultimately result in increased readiness for the 310th ESC. We are all accountable to ourselves and to each other to do everything in our power to help this command be ready and resilient.
