CAMP ATTERBURY, Ind.- Lt. Gen. Thomas G. Miller, new commander of First Army, made his first visit to Camp Atterbury to view the training of the Kosovo Force 10, Multi-National Task Force (East) Soldiers as they prepare for their deployment to Kosovo.
"It was a phenomenal visit between Lieutenant General Miller, Brigadier General Kay and the leaders and Soldiers of Camp Atterbury," said Col. Chris Holden, 205th Infantry brigade commander. "Miller was able to gain confidence in the mobilization, leadership and training of KFOR 10. Of particular importance is the positive relationship between KFOR 10, the 205th and the installation."
"First Army helps you train properly for what you're going to do, train as you fight. When the Soldiers deploy, First Army is behind them 100 percent," said Miller.
The mission of the First Army, Division East, is to enhance the combat readiness of reserve component Soldiers and units in the Eastern United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and to facilitate their ability to execute missions throughout the full spectrum of military operations.
KFOR 10 is the 16th rotation in an ongoing peacekeeping operation. The KFOR mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for all of Kosovo
"I know you all will do absolutely great," said Miller. "U.S. Army is put over your heart on purpose. It's there for a reason and we're all a team."
