Senior Airman Jonathan Hair, a fitness specialist with the 1st Special Operations Force Support Squadron, proposed the “Fuel 2 Go” idea of bringing ‘healthy, more readily available food’ to the same place where Hurlburt Airmen workout.
“Our goal is to provide lighter, healthier options for people to live a healthier lifestyle,” said Hair. “You’re going to feel better when you eat healthy.”
Different flights from within the 1st SOFSS have come together to support the new initiative.
“This is a joint venture through FSS,” said B.J. Bentley, the chief of fitness operations with the 1st SOFSS. “The bowling alley and fitness center are working together to provide healthy options for our Airmen.”
The bowling alley chefs are preparing the wraps and salads, which offer options of chicken, ham and tuna, while the parfaits will round out the rest of the menu.
Air Commandos with any feedback for the new snack bar can offer their welcomed opinions by going to www.myhurlburt.com and clicking the “ICE Feedback” tab.
“We’re trying to build good, quality Airmen so they can go back to the workplace and give quality product,” said Bentley.
