    III Marine Expeditionary Force   

    United States Marine Corps Cpl. George Cattelona from Raleigh, North Carolina, enlisted in the Marine Corps in March 8, 1943.

    He served in L battery, 4th Battalion, 13th Regiment. He enlisted as a forward observer and served four years in the Marine Corps. “I joined the Marine Corps because I knew I would get better training for what was needed for the battles,” said Cattelona.
