    III Marine Expeditionary Force

CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa - Sgt. Maj. R. Kevin Williamson relinquished his duties as the sergeant major of Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan during a relief and appointment ceremony today on Camp Foster.

Williamson served as the sergeant major of MCIPAC since October 2013 and will now move on to Manpower Management Division, Manpower Reserve Affairs, Headquarters Marine Corps.

“Williamson’s superb leadership and warrior’s ethos resonates and has strengthened our teams and enable us to be able to do what we do best, sustain and build out the Marine Corps power projection platforms here in the Asia-Pacific,” said Brig. Gen. Joaquin F. Malavet, commanding general of MCIPAC. During the ceremony, Williamson thanked the many who supported him throughout his tenure at MCIPAC.

Williamson's replacement is Sgt. Maj. Peter A. Siaw, who served previously as the sergeant major for Education Command, Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia.

“While humble, he’s proud and he’s tough,” said Malavet about Williamson. “While tough he’s respectful and compassionate. For over 24 years his passion for service and loyalty to his family, America, our Corps has been tightly woven into the fabric of his character. His character and his warrior’s blood line run straight through the hearts and minds of every Marine and sailor of MCIPAC.”
