DUSHANBE, Tajikistan - The 18th Field Artillery Brigade, out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, continues to work with partner militaries to share fire support knowledge in support of U.S. Army Central missions. Senior leaders recently traveled to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, to conduct a combined fire support planning seminar with field artillery leaders of the Tajik army in order to further each nation’s understanding of important planning functions.
This was the first seminar conducted between the Tajik field artillery leadership and the 18th FA Brigade. Topics included fire support in the offense and defense, targeting, airspace de-confliction and close combat attack.
During the seminar, the Tajik leadership eagerly shared their knowledge and techniques on each subject. Leaders from both sides shared their experiences and lessons learned to help each other understand why they use particular operational techniques.
The 18th FA Brigade is currently deployed in Southwest Asia in support of U.S. Army Central.
