MIAMI - Adm. Kurt Tidd, commander, U.S. Southern Command, returned to Miami, Friday, Jan. 22 after visits to Colombia and Honduras.
This was his first visit to the region since assuming command of SOUTHCOM Jan. 14.
In Colombia, Tidd met with civilian and military leadership to reinforce U.S. Southern Command’s relationship with our partners there.
During the trip, Tidd also visited Honduras, where he met with Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, Honduran military leaders and U.S. Ambassador to Honduras James D. Nealon.
Also while in Honduras, Tidd’s itinerary included a stop at Joint Task Force-Bravo at Soto Cano Air Base to meet with U.S. service members serving there.
