ROSE BARRACKS, Germany – As another year begins, so too does a wave of new rotations for the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Europe. For the Dragoons, it will be another chance to help demonstrate the United States’ resolve and dedication to its NATO Allies.

Troopers assigned to 3rd Squadron (Wolfpack), 2nd Cavalry Regiment look forward to these same opportunities as they leave from Rose Barracks, Germany to begin their deployment to Estonia, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia in support of Atlantic Resolve-North on January 13, 2016.

“The squadron is preparing to deploy to Atlantic Resolve-North where we will partner with our allies and reassure them of our commitment to the alliance and to participate, as allies, in training events,” said Maj. Patrick T. Stone, 3rd Squadron Executive Officer.

Atlantic Resolve is a European command operation that started in April of 2014 and has been led by the U.S. Army throughout Europe. Army units supporting the ongoing exercise conduct continuous enhanced multinational ground forces training and security co-operation activities alongside their allies and nations.

“What you will see over the course of the next five months is a series of individual through collective training events that the squadron will participate in at the troop level,” said Stone. “Our Iron Troop will partner with our ally in Estonia, Hammer Troop will partner with our ally in Latvia, Lightning Troop will partner with our ally in Lithuania and Kilo Troop will partner with our ally in Poland.”

Having a strong partnership with all European Militaries helps 2CR convey the framework of relationships, capabilities, infrastructure and exercises that will continue to assure access for the U.S. Army and American interests.

This will continue to be the underlying goal for the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and the U.S. Army along with their the NATO partners. Starting with this deployment, with more to follow, the Dragoons of 2CR continue to demonstrate the United States’ commitment to NATO and the security of Europe.
