    Story by Rob Wieland

Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Illinois – Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Manager Stacey Vande Linde, G1/4 Business Process Owner – International, was recently selected to attend the 90 day U.S. Army Enterprise Talent Management Temporary Duty Program.

Vande Linde, who has been at SDDC since 2007, is responsible for documenting, analyzing, streamlining, integrating and standardizing transportation processes that fall within the command’s international business lane.

The ETM TDY program is designed to broaden the participant's experience through involvement on a special project outside of their home station and to build enterprise level experience.

“I first heard about the ETM program as a whole, while attending the Dept. of Army Panel Discussion at the Oct. 2014 Association of the United States Army forum,” said Vande Linde, “then in February of 2015 I received one of those emails that goes to all Army Civilians announcing the program officially and providing instructions on how to apply.”

The selection process for the ETM TDY program is extremely competitive with Vande Linde being one of only 16 personnel selected for fiscal year 2016.

Getting accepted into a professional development program such as this has been one of Vande Linde’s goals. She hopes this experience will broaden her skills within the realm of Business Process Management and expand her professional network.

Participants in the ETM TDY program either fill a short-term developmental assignment on a special project as a member of a work group or tiger team, or will fill a critical need detail for a period not to exceed 90 days.

“This program will allow me to broaden my career and continue to develop my skills,” said Vande Linde.
Vande Linde credits her success to coworkers, supervisors, and the SDDC Command Group.

While Vande Linde is expecting to find out the location of her ETM TDY assignment shortly, she is eager for the challenges ahead.

”Sometimes it good to push ourselves to see what else is out there in order to grow personally and professionally,” concluded Vande Linde.
