    Questions and Answers

Q: How long have you been doing your job?
A: I've been in my current job for about seven months.

    Q: What are your goals?
A: Currently, I am finishing my reclassification packet to Public Affairs Broadcast Journalism. My long term goals include finishing my bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Telecommunication from the University of Florida, becoming a noncommissioned officer and to continue to broaden my horizons through cultural experiences.

    Q: What are your hobbies?
A: My hobbies include travel, playing guitar, reading and meditation.

Q: What do you like most about the Army?
A: I like that the Army provides me with the opportunity to be more involved in the community both abroad and locally.

Q: What would you change about the military service life?
A: I really think we need more "Sergeant’s Time" training.

    Q: Describe your military career.
A: After enlisting in November 2013, I went to Basic Training and AIT at Ft. Jackson. My first assignment was with Area Support Group- Kuwait, in Camp Arifjan. During my time there, I worked as the brigade award's clerk. During my off-duty hours, I was the president of the Arifjan Articulators, a local chapter of Toastmasters International, and I was a flanker on the Arifjan Eagles rugby team. After 13 months in Kuwait, I PCS’ed to Germany.

Q: What do you like most about being stationed in Germany?
A: I’ve had the opportunity to travel all over Germany while volunteering with the USAG-Bavaria BOSS Program. In addition to this, it has been quite interesting to be able to see how many Army programs work behind the scenes.

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: I’ve always been interested in independent films. But, I always enjoy binge-watching Star Wars.

Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I’ve always been proud of being able to follow in the shoes of my father. Even late in life, he’s chosen to go against immeasurable odds using only his wit and wisdom. Every time he is met with adversity, he overcomes it with gaining an advantage to not only help his family, but to help others as well.

Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want with you (not survival gear, but things with personal meaning)?
A: I'd want my father’s watch, my Kindle to read books and a guitar. Who knows, I might write the next "one hit wonder" while I’m out there.

Q: Name someone who has influenced or inspired you during your military career (could be a leader, mentor, peer or subordinate) and explain why.
A: Sgt. 1st Class Damien Wade from ASG-KU has influenced my career. Early on, he showed me the meaning of what it means to be a leader among my peers and subordinates. Wade and his “Wade-osophies” also were not only humorous, but taught me about being an adult in this ever-changing world.

Q: If you could meet one individual, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
A: I'd like to meet the Roman emperor and philosopher, Marcus Aurelius. He is one of the foremost stoic philosophers who I would ask an innumerable amount of questions. While his work, Meditations, was a good start, I feel his insight on today’s world would be greatly useful.
