AFGHANISTAN - Task Force Shadow, commanded by Lt. Col. Dave Zimmerman, flew more than 20,000 flight hours during their tour in Afghanistan. They provided 24 hour air support for VIP movements, Quick Reaction Force coverage and medical evacuation coverage.
“I am very proud to have been part of the greatest team of [noncommissioned officers], Soldiers and officers in my career,” Zimmerman said.
After Zimmerman and Command Sgt. Maj. Galu Satele slipped the case over the Task Force Shadow colors and rendered a final salute before the Task Force Mustang colors was brought to its new place next to the U.S. flag.
Lt. Col. Michael Stull, Task Force Mustang Commander, along with his senior enlisted advisor, Command Sgt. Maj. Tony Liles uncased their colors, recognizing their unit’s role and responsibility.
Stull said they are ready for the new challenge. He said he appreciated the accomplishments of Task Force Shadow and the standard they set for the mission.
