FORT HOOD, Texas - About 120 Soldiers from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team “Greywolf,” 1st Cavalry Division will take part in a motorcycle safety ride to the William R. Courtney State Veterans Home, a nursing home in Temple, Texas, for veterans, their spouses and Gold Star parents, 9 a.m. Dec. 18.
Soldiers will share a meal and spend the afternoon with the veterans. Upon completion of the program, Soldiers will return on their motorcycles to Fort Hood.
The 3rd ABCT motorcycle mentorship program provides riders with experienced mentors to help stress the importance of motorcycle safety. In addition to inspecting the motorcycles, checking admin details and going on a ride, organizers also incorporated a nursing home visit this time to thank the vets for their service.
Link up will be 8:30 a.m. at the William R. Courtney State Veterans Home, located at 1424 Martin Luther King Jr. Lane in Temple, Texas.
