Soon after the lead drummer kicked off the performance, Wroble took center stage and thrilled those passing through Union Station with her rich jazz vocals. Over the course of the eight-minute holiday feature, more than 100 musicians from the U.S. Air Force Band slowly emerged from hiding dressed in World War II-era uniforms to perform a lively a musical arrangement of “Jingle Bells” and “Auld Lang Syne.”

The performing group was comprised of four of the six ensembles that make up The U.S. Air Force Band, including the Airmen of Note, the Air Force Strings, the Singing Sergeants, and the Concert Band.

As vocalist with the Airmen of Note, Wroble has the opportunity to sing alongside some of the most talented jazz musicians in the nation.

“The excellence demonstrated by my fellow Airman musicians in events such as this is a reflection of the same level of excellence carried out by Airmen stationed around the world,” Wroble said. “We share the joy and hope of the season through music, and remember those serving all around the globe protecting our freedoms."

Wroble joined The U.S. Air Force Band in 2003 and had the opportunity to deploy with a small group from The U.S. Air Force Band in support of diplomatic and troop morale initiatives as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012. Before joining the Air Force, Wroble appeared with the Knoxville Opera Company and was a featured soloist with the East Tennessee Jazz Orchestra and the Oak Ridge Chorus.

For the past two years, The U.S. Air Force Band received worldwide exposure by creating holiday flash mob videos which were viewed by more than 30 million people on YouTube and were featured in major worldwide news networks.

Headquartered at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C., The United States Air Force Band is the premier musical organization of the Air Force, with 184 professional military musicians and support personnel.

The U.S. Air Force Band honors those who have served, inspires American citizens to heightened patriotism and service, and positively impacts the global community on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States of America.
