WACO, Texas – Now in its fifth year, the Marine Corps is on tour selecting players for the opportunity to participate in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. A tight end from Argyle High School was selected to play in the game and was presented a jersey during an assembly Nov. 11, 2015.

JC Chalk is one of the 92 high school athletes selected from across the country to play in the East versus West style bowl. Chalk, 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, is representing the West Coast team.

“It’s a big blessing to be selected,” said Chalk. “Also, it means that I’m an all-American, and that was one of my goals I set when I was younger.”

Players selected are well-rounded individuals, not only are they distinguished athletes, but also have academic achievements and display exemplary moral characteristics.

“JC is an outstanding kid,” said Todd Rodgers, head football coach/athletic director for Argyle High School, “He’s a real leader on the field and off the field. His mom and dad have really put a serving heart onto him, and they’ve sent JC all over the world to serve.”

Chalk, a top ranked Texas tight end is committed to playing college football at Clemson University.

The 5th annual Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl will be played in Carson, Calif., Jan. 3, 2016, at 8 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
