SAN FRANCISCO - The 35th annual San Francisco Fleet Week runs Oct. 5-12, and will welcome more than 2,000 Sailors and Marines to the Bay Area for the week-long tribute to the sea services.

Amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25), guided-missile cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71), guided-missile destroyer USS Stockdale (DDG 106) and littoral combat ship USS Coronado (LCS 4), along with U.S. Coast Guard cutter Boutwell (WHEC 719) and Canadian ship HMCS Calgary (FFH335), will participate in Fleet Week.

San Francisco Fleet Week 2015 is an opportunity for the American public to meet their Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard team. The Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen will be in San Francisco to celebrate the rich history of America's naval forces and the Bay Area. This engagement will highlight naval personnel, equipment, technology and capabilities with an emphasis on humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HA/DR).

Throughout the week, Sailors will have an opportunity to engage with the local community in a series of service projects and enjoy the Blue Angels air show and parade of ships. The Navy Blue Angels are scheduled to perform at the air show on Oct. 10-11.

Additionally, San Francisco citizens will have opportunities to tour the ships and meet Sailors. Tours aboard Somerset, Cape St. George, Stockdale, Coronado, and Boutwell are scheduled for Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Oct.10-12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tours aboard Calgary are scheduled for Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Oct.10 and 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend tours and interact with Sailors.

Prohibited items on board include the following:
    - Weapons, including knives, firearms and club weapons
    - Defensive chemicals or sprays, including mace and pepper spray; spray cans of any type
    - Fireworks, flammable liquids or other explosives
    - Illegal drugs and/or drug-related paraphernalia
    - Large bags, including backpacks and large camera bags (small camera bags and small handbags may be permitted, but will be subject to search)
