    Fort Hood Family Housing hosts 2015 National Night Out celebration

    FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood Family Housing along with Fort Hood's Directorate of Emergency Services and the 89th Military Police Brigade will host its annual National Night Out Celebration 6-9 p.m. Oct. 6 at Fort Hood Stadium with a Superhero theme.

    The event is open to everyone who lives on Fort Hood including those living in the barracks.

    At NNO 2015, families and Soldiers will find fun for all ages including live entertainment, free pizza, K-9 demonstrations, 3-on-3 basketball with MP's, superhero stations, bumper balls, hamster ball track, quad bungee jump, rock climbing wall, line-dance lessons, Spiderman wall, Games 2 U game truck, face painting, and balloon twisting. There will be special appearances from McGruff the Crime Dog, the National Knight, super heroes and Billy the Bad Guy.

    The NNO block party winner will be announced during the event and presented with the National Night Out trophy.

    "We are excited to host our annual NNO celebration on Oct. 6," Mack Quinney, project director for Fort Hood Family Housing, said. "As you might know, Fort Hood Family Housing has won the NNO Military Participation Award for the last five years and this year's celebration promises to be a great success and a wonderful opportunity for all residents to get out and get to know each other."

    Joining Fort Hood Family Housing in taking a stand against crime will be Fort Hood Police, 89th MP BDE, Fort Hood Fire Department, Fort Hood Family Advocacy, Army & Air Force Exchange, USO, Texas 4H Military, and Fort Hood housing partners.

    This nationwide NNO celebration is geared toward heightening crime prevention awareness and strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships while sending a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are fighting back.
