JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- First Lt. Kenneth Serafinko, 346th Test Squadron Officer In Charge of range operations, played an integral role in the 688th Cyberspace Wing’s run to a repeat title.

Serafinko forced two interceptions – including one for an 80-yard touchdown return and caught a 10-yard touchdown in the 688th CW’s 23-0 romp over the 93rd Intelligence Squadron Sept. 15, 2015, at the Warhawk Field at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas.

His pick-6 off quarterback Staff Sgt. Joseph Washington, 93rd IS linguist, sealed the game.

“I just watched where the quarterback’s eyes were moving at all times,” said Serafinko, who moved to JBSA-Lackland from Keesler Air Force Base, Miss.

Quarterback Brad Clinger, 92nd Information Operations squadron cyberspace operator, attributed Serafi nko’s versatile performance to his size and strength.

“Being 6 foot 4 inches and 230 pounds helps when he has to be at the right place at the right time,” he said.

Clinger threw two touchdowns for the 688th CW team and rushed for one on the first three possessions. His 15-yard rushing touchdown was his team’s first score.

Following an interception from teammate Staff Sgt. Michael Cook, 346th TS cybertest and training technician, Clinger engineered a six-play scoring drive culminating with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Serafinko. He later found 1st Lt. Eli Diaz, 346th TS test director, in the end zone for another score.

Tech. Sgt. Roshaun Hunter, 346th TS quality assurance analyst, also forced an interception off a bounced ball from 93rd Intelligence Squadron quarterback Patrick VanPelt’s fingertips.

“We have a good system. Everyone has bought into it,” Clinger said. “We have a great group of guys on the same page.”

“We wanted to prove tonight that we haven’t lost a step,” Serafinko said. “We have to keep working together and improve our defensive coverage.”
