FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died Sept. 7 from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident in Killeen, Texas.
Sgt. Thomas James Reyes, 28, whose home of record is Bronx, New York, entered active-duty military service in April 2007 as a combat engineer. He was assigned to 3rd Combat Engineer Company, Regimental Engineer Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since February.
Reyes deployed in support of Afghanistan operations from December 2008 to December 2009, from March 2011 to March 2012 and from June 2014 to February 2015.
Reyes' awards and decorations include four Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon and the NATO Medal.
Circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
