FORT BLISS, Texas (Sept. 3, 2015) -- Second Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment 'Seminoles' cased their colors in a Color-Casing Ceremony Sept., 3, 2015, at McGregor Range, Fort Bliss, Texas. The ceremony signals the battalion’s readiness to deploy.
Second Battalion has been conducting their mobilization training at Camp McGregor, Fort Bliss, Texas for the last month where they have performed many practical exercises such as individual and team weapons, close quarter combat, security and combat air assault training.
More than 600 Soldiers from “Seminole” Battalion will be deploying to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where they will help provide training to other African nations as well as conduct security operations for troops already deployed in the Horn of Africa.
“Task Force Seminole” command team, consists of Lt. Col. Jerry Glass and Command Sgt. Maj. Leon Dunning. During the ceremony, Glass and Dunning encased the colors in their sheath, where they will remain until arriving to the Horn of Africa.
