SAN ANTONIO - Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody spoke to Airmen from around the Air Force at the 2015 Air Force Sergeants Association Professional Airmen’s Conference on Aug. 25.

During the presentation, Cody spoke about today’s enlisted force and acknowledged who they are and how they have shaped the Air Force today.

“We are a completely different force than what we were when this began almost 70 years ago,” said Cody.

Throughout the discussion, Cody spoke about three main factors that he believes make the Air Force enlisted force so great: Pride, professionalism and performance.

This was showcased by using examples personal experience and supporting statistics from programs such as the Airman powered by innovation program where more than 5,600 ideas have been submitted, saving the Air Force millions of dollars. Cody also highlighted individual Airmen who display the three core traits every day around the world.

“When you put it all together, you get the most educated, experienced and capable force the world has ever known,” said Cody. “It’s unprecedented, the impact that our enlisted force is having on our nation and our ability to project airpower globally.”

Cody said keeping the pride felt when putting on the uniform every day contributes to the professionalism of the enlisted Airmen and ensures they continue to perform and build the Air Force legacy.

Cody ended by answering questions, thanking Airmen and their families for all they do.
