FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died of injuries suffered in an automobile accident at 4:51 a.m. July 6 in Maxdale, Texas.
Spc. Jason Darryl Kane, 24, whose home of record is listed as Surry, Maine, entered active-duty service in November 2010 as an explosive ordnance disposal specialist. He was assigned to the 47th Ordnance Disposal Company, 79th Ordnance Battalion, Fort Hood, since February 2012.
Kane deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from March to November 2014.
Kane's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Medal.
