    188th Army Band ensemble to play free Fargo concert

    FARGO, N.D. - Members of the North Dakota National Guard's 188th Army Band will perform a one-hour concert at 12 p.m. Friday, July 10, at the U.S. Bank Plaza in downtown Fargo, North Dakota. The event is free and open to the public.

    The unit's Flatland Dixieland Band - one of the 188th Army Band's musical ensembles - will be the event's featured act. The group is led by Staff Sgt. Justen Reed, of Fargo, and performs under the musical direction of Spc. Cherie Frenzel, of Mandan, North Dakota. The eight-piece ensemble plays traditional New Orleans-style jazz and Cajun music.

    The mission of the 188th Army Band is to provide music throughout the full spectrum of military operations and to instill in Soldiers the will to fight and win, to foster the support of citizens, to promote national interests at home and abroad and to entertain audiences. The band is led by Warrant Officer James Landman, of West Fargo, North Dakota.
