AL HILLAH, Iraq – Iraqi police captured a suspected indirect fire cell member responsible for IDF attacks against coalition forces, including an attack on Convoy Support Center Scania, Jan. 31, which killed one Soldier and injured three other personnel.
After receiving actionable intelligence stemming from the partnership between the Iraqi police and 3rd Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Iraqi police detained the suspect and transferred him to the detainee facility at CSC Scania for further processing.
The suspect is accused of being actively involved with mortar attacks against the Iraqi personnel, information gathering on coalition forces locations, and the murder of an Iraqi intelligence officer and Al Hillah SWAT members.
