    21st Theater Sustainment Command

Questions with Spc. Robert Bushfield this week’s 21st TSC Warrior of the Week.

Q: How long have you been doing your job?
    A: A year and a half.

    Q: What are your goals?
A: Short term: at the end of the year I’m going to be ETSing and going back to school in San Francisco at the Academy of Art University for visual development. My long term goal is, after I graduate, to do pre-production design for video games.

    Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I draw a lot; that’s the main thing that I do. I also like sci-fi, doing combatives and spending time with friends.

Q: What do you like most about the Army?
A: PT; I’m guaranteed to work out.

Q: What would you change about the military service life?
    A: To have a beard.

    Q: Describe your military career.
A: I was a mechanic over at HHC, 21st TSC. I did that for about a year and I learned a lot about vehicles. The main reason I took the job, to be honest, is because I knew I could draw the trucks when I had the downtime. Since I got pulled into the command I’ve supported everything from EUCOM missions to AFRICOM missions to CENTCOM missions and everything in between. Anything the command did I supported.

Q: What do you like most about being stationed in Germany?
A: The beer. I love dunkel weizen; it’s a darker beer.

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: That’s like asking what my favorite kind of chocolate is. I’d have to say sci-fi / fantasy; anything fantastical.

Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I’m most proud of being able to inspire other people to do the things they want to do.

Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want with you (not survival gear, but things with personal meaning)?
A: A girlfriend, a helicopter with lots of gas and a pilot.

Q: Name someone who has influenced or inspired you during your military career (could be a leader, mentor, peer or subordinate) and explain why.
A: There’s so many people. It’s hard to name just one but I’d say MAJ Daniels at the Commander’s Initiative Group because he was the first officer I dealt with that cared about getting the mission done and at the same time wasn’t solely focused on that. He was also focused on the troops. He’s the kind of officer that inspires you.

Q: If you could meet one individual, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
A: Leonardo da Vinci because he was “the” Renaissance man.
