GRENADA, Miss. – Maj. Arthur McLaurin assumed command of the 210th Finance Company from Maj. James Triplett during a ceremony at Camp McCain, June 13, 2015.

Col. John Rhodes, commander of 66th Troop Command, said Triplett would be missed, but the unit is in good hands.

“Triplett will leave an impact on the 210th Finance,” he said. “McLaurin is also a well established leader respected by seniors, peers and subordinates alike.”

Triplett, a Philadelphia, Miss., native, relinquished his duties to someone he said he sees as a promising and confident successor. He added McLaurin is “no stranger to the 210th family,” having served with the unit in Kuwait in 2009.

During Triplett’s tenure with the unit, they became the first financial management support unit to assume control over financial management support detachments that oversee finance missions in seven different countries, including Kuwait, Afghanistan, Qatar, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Pakistan. The unit also changed the way theater finance operations operate by disbursing over 20.5 million retrograded dollars off the battlefield and over 150 million without a loss of funds.

“As I depart I ask two things: support McLaurin as you supported me and live the traditions of the 210th, which are ‘Duty and Honor’ in order to embody the great standard that the 210th has always exemplified,” Triplett said in his departing comments.

McLaurin, a Magee, Miss., native, said he was proud to take command of the unit and looked forward to the challenges ahead.

“I don’t take this task lightly,” he said. “I want to continue the success standing ready by charge and leading by service!”
