    310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command

BEDFORD, Va. – Army Reserve Soldiers of the 497th Combat Service Support Battalion, 55th Sustainment Brigade, 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) and the Bedford, Virginia, Army Reserve Center were honored by the Stonewall Jackson Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) when the AUSA presented two Norman Rockwell prints, March 22, 2015.

The two prints presented by the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) chapter contain scenes such as the timeline of uniforms worn by Soldiers from the War of 1812 through the beginning of World War II. The second print contains a scene from the Vietnam War.

“One of the prints is recognized by the Army Historical foundation showcasing a timeline of Uniforms the Army has used in combat,” said Sgt. 1st Class Jody L. Martin, unit administrator for the 751st Quartermaster Company, 497th CSSB.

First Lt. Eric Evans, of the 751st QM Company, and 1st Sgt. Charles Kitts, of the 639th TC Company, the leadership of the two resident units in the Reserve Center, were on hand to accept the donation of the prints.

The prints were originally slated to be donated during a flag raising ceremony for the new Army Reserve Center on Feb. 22, 2015, but inclement weather led to a postponement of the gift.

Retired Army colonel and veteran of the Vietnam War John R. Miller represented the AUSA in donating the Army themed Norman Rockwell prints for the Bedford Army Reserve Center.

The Bedford, Virginia, Army Reserve Center, newly-constructed in 2013, sits a mile away from the National D-Day Memorial and is in the process of choosing the name of a fallen Army Reserve Soldier to name the building after under the Army Memorialization Program.
