MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. - The Commander, I.G. Brown Training and Education Center announced here, April 1, the Civilian, Senior NCO and NCO of the Quarter for January to March.

"It is with great pleasure and tremendous pride that I announce last quarter's TEC Award winners," said Col. Jessica Meyeraan, commander, in an email.

Civilian of the Quarter is Ron Waite, broadcast engineer.

Meyeraan and supervisors pointed out Waite's contributions on the satellite Airman leadership school's video teletraining concepts and demonstrations.

"His ability to utilize innovative software solutions, skillfully diagnose broadcast anomalies and assess satellite connectivity failures this past quarter ensured many times over that TEC maintained data accuracy and delivered uninterrupted course content to our many students in the field," said officials.

Officials also pointed out Waite's many other accomplishments, including his technical training and his support to the chaplain community.

Senior NCO of the Quarter is Master Sgt. Juan P. Castro, manager of educational resources and administrative operations.

Castro lead fitness sessions that helped coworkers improve their fitness test scores. He also received high regards from TEC's customers, completed professional development courses, and planned and facilitated a health fair for military kids.

NCO of the Quarter is Tech. Sgt. John McClean, who is an enlisted professional military education instructor for the Paul H. Lankford EPME Center.

Officials said that McClean led students and coworkers to volunteer in 22 community support events with 286 student volunteers. It resulted in 565 hours of community service. In the classroom, he improved student productivity. In the office, he helped coworkers improve grading evaluations with an electronic system.

The awardees get their photos displayed in Patriot Hall's main lobby, and they receive a special plaque from the Heritage Committee, a time off award and recognition during the next Commander's Call assembly.
