PERRY, Ga. – Air National Guard Global Dragon deployment for training cadres announced the Global Dragon 2015 award winners March 20, during an awards ceremony held at the Guardian Centers, Perry, Ga. Chief Master Sgt. Doug Lang, Global Dragon DFT director assigned to the 125th Fighter Wing, Florida, presented trophies, medals and a plaque.

“The Global Dragon training was both mentally and physically challenging, but the Airmen exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond what was required of them,” Lang stated. “I am extremely proud of everyone here; they were competitive and we had a difficult time selecting the winners.”

Airman 1st Class Francisco Viera Pereira from the 106th Rescue Wing, New York, was announced the top Airman and nabbed the Ultimus Draco Award for his overall performance, selflessness and attitude, while the 106th RQW Emergency Management Flight from New York ANG earned the Dracos Excellentia Award.

During a domestic operations radiological incident field training exercise, coins were presented to the top five percent overall performance Airman by Col. Rich Coffey, 125th FW Mission Support Group commander and Chief Master Sgt. Joe Green, Georgia State Headquarters command chief and senior enlisted advisor.

The top 10 percent overall performance Airmen took home the Chief’s Award.

“I would like to thank all the units who sent Airmen to participate in this event,” said Chief Master Sgt. Dan Zent, emergency management functional area manager at National Guard Bureau, Washington, D.C. “It’s important we recognize them to ensure our Airmen know we appreciate what they do for the ANG and our nation.”

Emergency Managers received superior performance medals in the following categories: Level A Olympics; Confidence Round Robin; Team Brief; Emergency Operations Center Operations; Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Cell Operations; Reconnaissance and Post Attack Reconnaissance; and Active CBRN Response Interior, Exterior and Sampling for peacetime and wartime operations.
