    FORT HOOD, Texas -- Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who was found unresponsive March 15 at his off-post residence in Killeen, Texas. Bell County Justice of the Peace, Bill Cooke pronounced him deceased at 3:30 p.m.

    Sgt. Geraldo Andre Mora-Cruz, 33, whose home of record is listed as San Germán, Puerto Rico, entered active-duty service in August 2000 as an information technology specialist. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 48th Chemical Brigade, Fort Hood, since July 2012.

    Mora-Cruz deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 2003 to November 2003 and from November 2007 to January 2009.

    Mora-Cruz's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, five Army Achievement Medals, four Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, three Overseas Service Ribbons and Driver and Mechanic Badge.

    Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation.
