    525th Military Intelligence Brigade conducts their first change of command since its transformation

    FORT BRAGG, N.C. –The 525th MI BDE will host the first change of command ceremony since the brigade’s transformation, here at Lightning Field, 525th MI BDE headquarters, 10 a.m. on Monday, March 23.

    Effective Oct. 16, 2014, the 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade was redesignated to the 525th Military Intelligence Brigade by order of the Department of the Army.

    Col. James “Jay” E. Walker will assume command from Col. David J. Woods following an assignment at Headquarters Department of the Army G3/5/7 as a cyberspace plans officer. Walker, a Newport News, Va. native, also served as the battalion commander of the 742nd Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Meade, Md.     Presiding the change of command ceremony is Lt. Gen. Joseph “Joe” Anderson, Commanding General of the XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg.

    Media are invited to attend the change of command ceremony March 23 at 10 a.m. There will be opportunities for still and video imagery and interviews. Media should meet the 525th MI BDE representative at Stryker Golf Course on S. Bragg Blvd. at 9 a.m. The media convoy will depart no later than 9:20 a.m.

    Media interested in attending the change of command must confirm with the 525th MI BDE Public Affairs Office, Maj. Heather Hall, no later than Thursday, March 19, at 4 p.m. at (910) 907-2810 or 910-396-8671 or email heather.m.hall24.mil@mail.mil. Please provide the number of news team members, video/still photographers and other special equipment you plan to bring to the ceremony.
