U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District

PITTSBURGH - The Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District will participate in the sixth annual small business networking event, April 2 at the Robert H. Mollohan Research Center in Fairmont, W.Va. The event is free and open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District will participate in the sixth annual Dynamic Networking for Small Business (DYNET) networking event on Thursday, April 2, at the Robert H. Mollohan Research Center in Fairmont, West Virginia. The free event is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Who’s In Your Net?” The day begins with basic information needed to participate in government procurements and progresses through to more complicated subjects such as financing, bonding, security clearances and contract management. It’s a mixed “net” full of useful subjects needed to be successful. Army Corps representatives will be offering a workshop titled “Be a Winner – the Top 10 Mistakes of Proposal Preparation.”

The event also enables creation of relationships through networking tables staffed by large prime contractors, agencies and support organizations. “Who’s in Your Net?” is important to help small businesses wade through the federal contracting process. Resource agencies will be on hand to offer business advice and mentoring.

The DYNET networking event is hosted by the I-79 Development Council. The Department of Homeland Security, FBI and other agencies are also participating. DYNET is a one-stop shop for gathering the knowledge, resources, and relationships necessary to do business in the federal government arena.

Also scheduled is the SBA’s Ombudsman Roundtable event which will run concurrently to DYNET. The SBA Ombudsman will conduct a roundtable discussion at 3 p.m. and engage industry in subjects and issues related to small businesses today.

There is no charge to attend the event, however registration is limited. Visit www.dynetworking.com today to secure your spot. Point of Contact is Deana Keener, director I-79 Council, 304-680-7932, or Sherrie Plonski, deputy for Small Business, Pittsburgh District, 412-395-7127.
