FORT HOOD, Texas — After being wounded in action and taken prisoner during fighting in Unsan, Korea, in the Korean War, Pfc. Lotchie Jones, a Soldier with the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, is scheduled to return to his family after 64 years.
The dignified transfer of Jones’ remains from the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii to his loved ones in Tennessee is scheduled for March 4 at the Nashville International Airport.
Jones remains were recently identified via dental records and radiography and will be buried March 6 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
