Story by Tech. Sgt. Benjamin Matwey

    166th Airlift Wing, Public Affairs

NEW CASTLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Del. - This series of feature articles will describe the essentials of how to become an aviator in the Delaware National Guard, and cover opportunities available to both Guard Airmen and Soldiers.

It starts with a "joint" Air-Army article that reviews the units, aircraft and air crew positions available in the Delaware Air National Guard and Delaware Army National Guard, and continues with separate articles on the qualifications, selection process and training for the various crew positions in the Delaware ANG and the Delaware ARNG.

The Delaware ANG articles will focus on the air crew of the C-130 Hercules aircraft, and the Delaware ARNG articles will focus on the pilots and additional air crew of the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.

The entire series will be posted on www.166aw.ang.af.mil; links will allow readers to easily move from one story to other stories in the series.
