JOINT BASE MYER-HENDERSON HALL, Va. - Service members and civilian staff of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall’s Andrew Rader U.S. Army Health Clinic met Oct. 10 for a customer service training program scheduled to take place throughout the Northern Regional Medical Command by Nov. 10.
“The reason I am here is because one of the biggest patient satisfiers we have in Medcom is you guys,” said Brig. Gen. Robert D. Tenhet, NRMC commander.
Since taking command in May, Tenhet has visited military treatment facilities from Maine to North Carolina and from the Atlantic seaboard to Wisconsin that fall under his command, and stresses the need for basic customer service training across the board.
“We are going to try and market more of what we do well because a lot of the time we are just dealing with the people having issues,” he said. “We need to applaud and thank people for when they do things well.”
He stressed the importance of staff relationships, mutual respect amongst coworkers and listening to individuals.
“We are going to put ‘patient-centered’ into ‘patient-centered care,’” he said.
