International Security Assistance Force-Afghanistan
KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan national security forces assisted by International Security Assistance Force troops arrested more than a dozen insurgents in Badghis province, Oct. 31.
Several people suspected of improvised explosive device triggering and bomb making were among the arrested. In addition, the Afghan national security forces found illegal weapons such as rifles, mines and rocket propelled grenades.
"The capture action was decisive and successfully conducted," said Brig. Gen. Dieter Warnecke, ISAF regional command north commander. The general also said that ISAF strongly supports ANSF in providing security throughout Afghanistan.
The support from the civilian population was an important contribution to the success of the operation, according to Lt. Col. Mohammad Mahdi Kabuli, chief operations of Afghan national police.
