FORT HOOD, Texas - Soldiers, civilians, family members and Central Texas community leaders will welcome Maj. Gen. Kendall P. Cox, Fort Hood's new III Corps deputy commanding general, at 9 a.m. June 24 at the III Corps Headquarters here.
Cox comes to Fort Hood from the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C., where he served as deputy commanding general for military and international operations.
Cox will replace Maj. Gen. James Richardson. Richardson left Fort Hood May 16 to take command of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command in Redstone Arsenal, Ala.
Media desiring to cover the event should register here. A public affairs representative will meet the media at the southside parking lot of Marvin Leath Visitors Center at 8:15 a.m. June 23 for an escort to the ceremony.
