    II Marine Expeditionary Force

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Marines and sailors with Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group took to the fields, tracks, bikes and even an inflatable arena during the unit’s field meet here, May 9.

Each company wore different colored shirts to show their unit pride as they went head to head during the day’s festivities.

“The training tempo has never been like it has been right now,” said Col. Gary F. Keim, the commanding officer of CLR-27. “We are busier right now from a training perspective than we have ever been, better than we have ever been, [and] the quality of this regiment is better than it’s ever been.”

Keim told his Marines and sailors they deserve a day to unwind, blow off steam, and just have fun.

Each company selected a handful of service members to compete in events ranging from the 100-meter dash, 3200-meter relay, long jump, tug-o-war, dizzy tire flip race and various other activities.

Marines and sailors rallied together to cheer on participants and complete events that emphasized teamwork. Unit pride was shown through camaraderie as they cheered on their selected competitors to hopefully win the trophy.

At the end of the field meet, through the course of a back and forth struggle. Landing Support Company, in its crimson attire, beat out the competition. The victorious company received a trophy for their achievement in a culminating ceremony where all the regiment’s top finishers were recognized before being dismissed to return to their sections.
