LaRock, a native of Newark, Ohio, and Smith, a York, Pa., native, are deployed here from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, home of the “Systems Go” band. This AFCENT band performs a wide variety of hit songs from genres such as jazz, pop, rock and country, providing a high energy atmosphere raising joint and coalition morale. UNDISCLOSED LOCATIION - Service members assigned to the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing in Southwest Asia celebrated the New Year with festivities, entertainment and the raising of a New Years Eve ball.
Members of the 379th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron handed out party favors and food throughout the evening as DJ Babey Drew, star of the VH-1 show Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta, deejayed and introduced the other performers. Comedienne Eliza Sherzinger, winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing competition, brought her brand of humor. The Farm, a country music band performed prior to the raising of the ball at midnight. Soon after the New Year was celebrated The Farm and DJ Babey Drew entertained until 2 a.m.
